A new study from the Pew Research Center finds that Muslims are much more likely to be single than are other religious groups.
This is not because Muslims are more accepting of sexual relationships.
Only 9% of Muslims say that a sexual relationship between two people of the same gender is appropriate, while 31% say it is not appropriate, according to the study.
The study, “Are Muslim Americans Single?” is based on interviews conducted with 1,008 U.S. adults from January to June of 2018.
It surveyed 1,005 Muslims living in the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and the United States.
This includes 1,024 Muslims in the United Kingdom, 1,001 Muslims in France, 1.5 million Muslims in Italy, and 1.8 million Muslims living worldwide.
The data is from Pew Research’s American Trends Panel.
