From a city in the Caucasus, to a town on the outskirts of London, the Muslim singles market has been a common sight in the United Kingdom for more than 100 years.
While many of these singles are seeking a place to live with their parents, some are also looking for a safe place to meet new people.
In a new report on Muslim singles, National Geographic highlights the challenges and opportunities that many of them face, including how to find Muslim singles.
This infographic was produced by National Geographic for the new book, “The Single Muslim.”

Source: National GeographicThe number of Muslims living in Britain has increased from more than 10 million in the early 20th century to over 40 million today, according to figures from the British Social Attitudes Survey (BSAS).
But according to the British Council, British Muslims are still a minority, with around a quarter of the population identifying as Muslim.
Muslims make up less than 0.4% of the total population in Britain.
And while a recent report by the Office of National Statistics showed that Muslims are more likely to identify as Muslim in the West, the British Muslim singles survey also revealed that a majority of British Muslims feel isolated and alone.
One in five British Muslims say they are not at all likely to marry, according a survey from the BCSS.
And according to a new survey, one in four Muslims in England say they do not even know someone of the same religion, compared to one in 10 in the U.S. and one in five in Germany.
While British Muslims have historically been able to marry outside of the Islamic faith, the number of marriages outside the faith is rising as well, with more than a third of Muslims saying they would marry someone of another religion, according the British Muslims survey.
The BCSU survey also found that Muslim women are more inclined to marry than men in Britain.
“It is the case that the number and type of marriages of Muslims in Britain have increased significantly over the last two decades,” the survey concluded.
